K​ids SecuriDay is going digital!
Our August event is tied to National Science Week which will be going entirely digital so we will be too. The National Science Week schools theme this year is 'Deep Blue: innovations for the future of our oceans' so our theme will be pirates! 

What you need: a ticket, computer and internet connection.
What you get: participant swag bag delivered prior to the event, mentoring in online forums
from security professionals, fun talks, workshops, competitions and games.

Capture The Black Flag is a pirate themed 'Capture the Flag' (Sea Tee Eff) game in which you young sailors will sail between distant Caribbean islands in search o clues that may eventually lead you to a veritable trove of treasures.

Marcus J Carey, "Three Little Hackers"

In a world where young children are increasingly participating in online activities many parents worry about the dangers of the internet. The greatest vulnerability that kids face is criminals posing as children online to lure kids into compromising situations. Marcus wrote Three Little Hackers so parents can have an important conversation about how criminals use social engineering and how to guard their privacy online. The book revamps the classic three little pigs story to help kids stay safe online. By combining a classic story that they know with real life situations they may see online, the lesson is sure to stick. In this session Marcus will read the book and review the techniques that the villain tried during the story.​

Vandana Verma, "Kali Linux 101"

In the workshop, Vandana will be showcasing what Kali is, the different tools it contains and how to leverage the tools to use them for security testing. She will showcase how we can scan other servers and take ethical security testing actions.​​

Infosec Hoppers, "Storming the Death Star"

Poe has been kidnapped! Finn, Rey and BB8 must save him! The Rebel Alliance need help from some tech savvy kids to threat model the Death Star to see how they can infiltrate it without detection and get Poe back. Are you up to the task?

BiaSciLab, "Building a Home Lab and Introduction to Web Application Hacking"

This class teaches you why and how to get a home lab started, then we jump right into building a lab and hacking! Students will leave this class with a functioning lab and the knowledge to get hacking on it!

Eshaal Ali, "Cyber safety as a key first step

Eshaal wants to expand the cyber security awareness of others with a focus on protecting personal information and identity. She wants to spread this message to kids so that the next generation can think cyber safety as a key first step towards using or creating any technology.

This isn't a cool story about hacking, it's a cool story about security.

Paige Ridgway, "Playing Piggy in the Middle (with a Packet Squirrel)

Paige is going to explore the world of person-in-the-middle attacks (which are a little bit like a game of piggy in the middle) in a format accessible to kids. She'll use a Hak 5 packet squirrel to prank her sisters and be a general nuisance, and she'll give some simple tips to keep safe in some environments where you might see these attacks.

John Gerardos, "Aarrrh, Secret messages be here!"

Pirate G will be teaching kids all about sending and receiving secret messages in this fun workshop. Kids will learn the basics of ciphers and how to construct a secret code wheel, which will later be used to communicate like pirates!
Suitable for ages 6 to 10.

Music by Treasure Ghost, "The Homeschool Album" 

This album is the story of Lipo Tatuta, a character created by our lead singer. Lipo is a robot monster, the greatest treasure finder in all the galaxies. The Treasure Ghost is his spaceship and it is also a submarine.
Lipo sings and writes about his adventures to make Homeschool more interesting.
Our album is All proceeds donated to the lead singer's college fund.

Smidge is a swashbuckling former Army signals intelligence operator and technical signals analyst. He has a passion for automation and improving workflows, and is a hobbyist hacker / OSINT competition winner causing problems on purpose for the greater good.

Mitch is a Software Engineer who specializes in Application Security, Authentication and Authorization. In the past he has worked as a Builder's Assistant, Bouncy Castle Technician, Glitter Artist and Balloon Twister. He loves to think about how he could potentially break into everywhere and lets people know so they can improve their security.

Ali Paracha

​Ali is a Cyber Security Operations Centre (CSOC), where he built Cyber Security Incident Detection and Response capability from scratch for Information Technology & Operational Technology environment. Previously he worked in a pirate Bank CSOC, where he helped to build in-house capability by training Cyber Security Analysts on security incident response fundamentals.

Kavika Singhal

Kavika is a passionate cyber security enthusiast, pursuing Bachelors in Cyber Security and Behaviour from Western Sydney University. She believes in empowering pirates and making them aware about security threats and mishaps. She is a Security Ambassador in the Indian Support Center, and actively participates in educating the elderly about the importance of information security and digital safety.

About the presenters

BiaSciLab
BiaSciLab is a 13 year old hacker and maker. She was the youngest speaker at H.O.P.E. and DEF Camp Romania, she has spoken at DEFCON in the Bio Hacking Village, Voting Village and the r00tz Asylum kids con. She received national attention when she hacked the voting reporting system at DEFCON 26, this work was recently highlighted at the Congressional Hearing on Election Security. BiaSciLab is also the Founder and CEO of Girls Who Hack, an organization focused on teaching girls the skills of hacking so that they can change the future. Most recently she started Secure Open Vote, her own end to end, open source election system. She enjoys inventing things, giving talks and teaching classes on making, programming and hacking. Capt'n Eric Pinkerton
Eric is a dad and an infosec professional who may or may not have once gotten sea sick on the Manly Ferry, but who secretly dreams of being a fearsome pirate, salt flecked, and cutlass bare, blowing mighty holes through the hulls of any ships that get in his way.
Eshaal Ali
Eshaal Ali is a 10 year old with a passion for cyber security. She believes cyber security should be a fundamental component of all technology and the way it is used, especially online platforms. Kids, through their use of social media and online games are more prone to cyber bullying, which can be traumatic and difficult to escape.
Infosec Hoppers
The InfoSec Hoppers is a group created to confront the ongoing issue of diversity in InfoSec. Primarily by providing resources and ongoing mentorship and support for women, gender minorities, and underrepresented groups working in information security and across the information technology sector.
Jurre Groenendijk
Jurre is an 18 year old student from the Netherlands who ethically hacked his high school with permission at the age 14 to help improve its security posture. Since then he tries to inspire kids throughout the world to be more resilient with helpful tips and how to put their programming and hacking skills to use for the good. 
Marcus J Carey
Marcus Carey is currently an Enterprise Architect at ReliaQuest. Marcus is renowned in the cybersecurity industry and has spent his more than 20-year career working in penetration testing, incident response, and digital forensics with federal agencies such as NSA, DC3, DIA, and DARPA. He started his career in cryptography in the U.S. Navy and holds a Master's degree in Network Security from Capitol College. Marcus was previously the founder and CEO of Threatcare (acquired by ReliaQuest), a venture-backed cybersecurity and software services company based in Austin, Texas. He regularly speaks at security conferences across the country. Marcus is passionate about giving back to the community through things like mentorship, hackathons, and speaking engagements, and is a voracious reader in his spare time.
Paige Ridgway
Paige is a 13 year old student, currently studying year 8. She got her first taste of INFOSEC at Kids SecuriDay and is excited to get to share some things she's learned along the way.
Tamara Baker
​Tamara Baker is a 15 year old with a passion for technology. She strongly believes that to have a safe cyber security future we all have an ethical obligation to educate ourselves about how to protect our information and to educate people who are vulnerable in the cyber security space. In the future she aspires to work as an ethical hacker. She is an ambassador for both Code like a Girl and Melbourne Knowledge Week. She also recently received a Special Recognition Award from the Australian Women in Security Network and CSO rewarding innovation and excellence in inspiring the next generation in information technology security.
Vandana Verma
Vandana is a seasoned security professional with over 14 years of experience ranging from application security to infrastructure and now dealing with DevSecOps. She has been keynote speaker / Speaker / Trainer at various public events ranging from Global OWASP AppSec events to BlackHat events to regional events like BSides events in India. 

She is part of the OWASP global board of directors. She also works in various community towards diversity initiatives InfosecGirls, WoSec and null. She has been recipient of multiple prestigious awards like  Global cybersecurity influencer among IFSEC Global's "Top Influencers in Security and Fire" Category for 2019, Cybersecurity Women of the year award by Women Cyberjutsu Society in the Category “Secure Coder”. She has also been listed as one of the top women leaders in this field of technology and cybersecurity in India by Instasafe.
